HSI Up 3.72% by midday as Wall Street Stocks Manage to End Steady
Hong Kong stocks rose in early morning trade as Wall Street peers managed to end steady overnight in response to the United States' retaliatory strikes against Afghani targets. But investors remained cautious as they awaited tomorrow's policy address by The Hong Kong chief executive Tung Chee-hwa. The benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 370.79 points, or 3.72 percent, at 10338.62. Turnover was HK$3.897 billion.
