Global mergers and acquisitions total at US$434.5 billion in 3rd quarter, Down 4

Global mergers and acquisitions activity in the third quarter totaled US$434.5 billion from 6,200 deals announced, a 1.5 percent decline from the previous quarter and a 45 percent drop compared a year before. Asia excluding Japan M&A activity experienced a 41.53 percent drop in volumes valued at US$77.04 billion while Japan fell 58 percent from US$92.45 billion worth of transactions to US$39.28 billion announced this year.
