HKEx says GEM listing applications steady

HKEx (0388) GEM Listing Committee Member Trini Tsang notes that although the economy performs sluggish in recent period, the application for GEM listing has not yet been indicated with any reduction in number. And recently a couple of applications have been approved. Trini Tsang also dealing director of Grand Onward Securities Limited notes that a number of organizations including The Institute of Securities Dealers Ltd, Hong Kong Securities Institute as well as some others hope will discuss the timing of the cancellation of the scheme of minimum brokerage charges on 1 April 2002.
