YTL no longer jointly bids for Singapore power plants

YTL Corporation managing director Francis Yeoh said his company and CLP Holdings Ltd (0002) will no longer jointly bid for Singapore's three power plants as CLP now has its own partner. "CLP has endorsed another partner," Yeoh said in response to questions at a news conference after the company's extraordinary general meeting. CLP Holdings has a 5.0 pct stake in YTL Power. "We have no plans to bid for the Singapore plants with CLP or Tenaga Nasional ... Whoever partners with us should acknowledge our strength and the ability to build at low cost and capital," Yeoh said.
